LateNite is an independent production studio committed to investing in emerging creatives with strong, unique voices, helping tell their stories in a creatively supportive and collaborative environment. Our work uses humour to explore outsider stories that are unmistakably human and straddle the line between light and dark.

NICHOLAS COLLA / Director & Co-Founder

Nicholas Colla is a producer and director of film, television & digital content. Nick's producing credits include the fantasy comedy series The Wizards of Aus featuring Guy Pearce (SBS2), children's adventure comedy The Legend of Burnout Barry (ABC) and the AACTA nominated Rebooted, which featured in competition at festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy and Austin. Nick's latest project, the animated comedy series The Future of Everything, premiered in competition at both Adelaide and Austin Film Festivals before being released on Grouse House TV. Nick has directed the much adored Australian soap Neighbours (Fremantle Media) and music videos for some of Australia's biggest artists including Peking Duk (ADG award nominated), Cosmo's Midnight and Vera Blue.

NICOLETTE MINSTER / Writer & Producer

Nicolette Minster is a Melbourne based comedian, writer and producer. As a writer, Nicolette's credits include Erinsborough High (Channel 5 UK), The Legend of Burnout Barry (ABC), The Wonder Gang (ABC) and Larry the Wonderpup (WTFN/Seven Network). Nicolette has acted as script producer on animated comedy series The Future of Everything and Deadbeat Ends Meet. She has contributed in development rooms for Lingo Pictures, Fremantle, Werner Productions, CJZ, Seven Studios, LateNite, Sticky Pictures, and Mamamia!. Nicolette co-wrote the psychological thriller feature "Girl at the Window" starring Radha Mitchell, directed by Mark Hartley and produced by Tony Ginane. Her original dark comedy series "V" was selected for Screen Australia's Pitcher Perfect event and is currently in development, also supported by Screen Australia. As a producer, Nicolette's latest project, the animated comedy series The Future of Everything, premiered in competition at both Adelaide and Austin Film Festivals before being released on Grouse House TV.

CHRIS HOCKING / Director & Co-Founder

Chris has been working in the entertainment industry for over two decades. Previously the Post Production Supervisor at Melbourne's award winning editing house The Butchery, and finishing house The Refinery, Chris has an incredibly strong and varied technical and business background, ensuring that each production makes use of the best and most relevant technology and workflows. He is the creator of the open source macOS application, CommandPost, which has been downloaded over 165K times - as well as a suite of Final Cut Pro tools on the macOS App Store. His producing credits include the SBS2 series The Wizards of Aus, the Fairy Tale unit on Foxtel mini series Lambs of God, and the ABC ME project The Legend of Burnout Barry. Chris is a member of SPA, ASE and is an Adobe Certified Expert.

SCARLETT KOEHNE / Producer

Scarlett is a producer whose credits include limited series, Videoland, which was was made with support from Screen Australia, VicScreen and Queer Screen and awarded Best Series in the Comedy Competition at Series Mania 2024. Scarlett previously produced online series, Loving Captivity, which was supported by the City of Melbourne and Screen Australia. After completing a law degree, Scarlett developed her screen career in the Production Management department on Clickbait, La Brea, Books That Made Us and House of Wellness among others. As a writer, she was selected in last year’s SPA Pitch On Demand competition. Scarlett is proud to be participating as a mentor in this year’s ElevateUs program run by WIFT and is thrilled to be joining LateNite on a VicScreen supported Producer Placement.

KEVIN LUK / Editor

Kevin Luk has been working with LateNite for the last four years as an editor, visual effects artist and all round swiss army knife. His work as an editor has included the Guy Pearce music video What Makes You Think, the YouTube and Screen Australia funded short Rebooted, and Erinsborough High, a spin-off of the popular soap Neighbours for Channel 5 in the UK. Kevin has shown his adaptability in visual effects and colour grading while remaining true to his passion of story, characters, and the moments between the cuts.
